Rail Crossing Study
The city is leading a study of the 5 level crossings of the Metrolinx (CN) rail line in Guelph. A 6th crossing at Cityvew Drive in the east part of the Ward was closed some years ago but may be reconnected with either a bridge or tunnel. This impacts the Ward because a crossing here would restore an active transportation link between the east end of Guelph, the Ward and the proposed Guelph Innovation District and the Heritage Conservation District on the old Ontario Reformatory lands. Tell the city your thoughts on level crossings in Guelph.
Reformatory District
The old Ontario Reformatory (Jail Lands) is adjacent to the eastern part of the Ward so what happens there may affect us. We are in “Phase 1” of this project, which is designed to identify heritage resources with a view to producing a Heritage Conservation District Plan. The City is community seeking engagement to help the project team further understand the community’s experience of the area and to inform the proposed Heritage conservation District boundaries.Tell the City about your connection to the Reformatory Lands
